Last week, Hyundai finished up August on a high note, being designated the highest-ranked mass-market brand in J.D. Power's 2022 U.S. Tech Experience Index Study. The recognition marked the third consecutive year that Hyundai topped the TXI Mass Market Innovation Index rankings.
The annual study aims to determine how effective manufacturers are at bringing new technology to the market, based on the number of new technologies introduced and how well they're implemented. Factors affecting the "excellence in execution" evaluation include owner enjoyment and the number of problems customers encounter during use. Thirty-five technologies were analyzed, grouped into four categories. Here's a quick look at the different groups and a few examples of each found in Hyundai's lineup:
- Convenience: Hyundai Digital Key, Remote Smart Parking Assist, Passenger Talk In-Car Intercom, three-row USB ports, wireless device fast charging
- Energy and Sustainability: IONIQ 5, Kona Electric, Tucson and Santa Cruz plug-in hybrids, 350-kW ultra-fast charging capability
- Infotainment and Connectivity: 12.3-inch Navigation touchscreen, Dynamic Voice Recognition, 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, head-up display, Bluelink® Connected Car System
- Emerging automation: Highway Driving Assist II; Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control with Auto Curve Slowdown
