Highlights of the New Ioniq 5
The Ioniq 5 is being enhanced for the new model year. Now, the exterior will offer updated front and rear bumpers, a larger rear spoiler, and a rear windshield wiper. The interior, too, is updated, and it offers a wireless smartphone charger and an upgraded infotainment system. The infotainment system will have a 12-inch touchscreen with voice recognition and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
Powering the Ioniq 5 will be two battery options. There's a 58-kWh and a new 84-kWh battery. The 58-kWh battery is paired with a single, rear-mounted electric motor to generate 168 horsepower and 220 miles of range. Meanwhile, the 84-kWh battery has a rear-drive configuration and generates 225 horsepower and 325 miles.
Not only is the new Ioniq 5 more powerful and loaded with tech, but it also has plenty of safety features. The coming standard is automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Higher trims feature advanced driver-aids such as an automated parking system, a 360-degree camera system, and a blind-spot camera.
A new trim called the N-Line is now available. With it comes 20-inch wheels, a side skirt, and updated interior enhancements.
